Sonnet 23/10/04                           CMXLV

I ache, with season and continued strain,
With little chance to rest. Thought of my muse
Is all that keeps me from collapse: To gain
Smile gives reason to even rest refuse.
I treasure moments that I share, with one
Who offers world to dreams: What can I give
Save time, to show true worth? Dreams have begun,
But can heart hope to ever those dreams live?
To talk with muse gives me the chance to know
A little more about her: Will she say
Some word of hope, or will she coolness show,
To hold at distance, keeping heart at bay?
She is my muse, with eyes that hold my heart,
And smile that gives reason for dreams to start.
