Sonnet 26/10/04                           CMXLVI

Would arms round sleeping muse capture her dreams,
To find how to her happiness pursue?
Might I then know what of my passion seems
To win her smile, and all of hopes renew?
How can I not this muse desire, when she
Reaches my soul with words, and eyes, and smile?
What is her power, that she seems to be
All that I want, and all my dreams beguile?
I long to hold her, but I long far more
For her to find the path to her desire.
How shall I help, to happiness ensure,
Without the fear effort might earn her ire?
Is love a madness that takes over heart,
To lead one into dreams where hopes might start?
