Sonnet 28/10/04                           CMXLVII

What shall we talk of, dearest muse, tonight,
To pass the long night hours? Might I declare
How much I prize your smile, and that the sight
Of eyes gives me cause to know you are rare?
You deserve all that I might give, and more:
You deserve heart's desire. How can I know
The words to tell how much you hopes restore?
You are more than you realize, or show.
What can I dream, that would give chance of smile?
How can I show just what it means, to think
You might allow concern? Can heart find style
That might my longings and end of doubt link?
Remember that I love you, and recall
I find in love reason to offer all.
