May 6, 1882: "The Phoenix Park murders": an assassination in Dublin of the British chief secretary
of Ireland, Lord Frederick Cavendish, and his under secretary, T.H. Burke by members of a nationalist
secret society, the Invincibles. "Skin the Goat" Fitzharris was the cabman who drove them to and from the
Park.
Carey told on 'Skin the Goat,'
O'Donnell put him on the boat
He wished he'd never been afloat, the dirty skite
It wasn't very sensible to tell on the Invincibles
They took aboard the principals, day and night.
