Shepherdlass...I posted a thread, perhaps a year or so ago, as I appeared to be the only one who remembered the Barn Dances on BBC..(Before 1 and 2) and in Black and White!!. The Band I think was Jack Armstrond and the Cheviot Ranters Country Dance Band. Bill Cain was the Caller...and dispersed librally among the dances were songs by The Barry Sisters, Steve Bembow and Val Doonican. Presenter was Brian Redhead.. The bearded one from the Today programme on radio 4.
