Sonnet 10/11/04                            CMLI

I cannot help but write sonnets to muse:
Her words sing sweet song into dreams. She sends
Such music to my heart; My verses use
An echo of what she so easily lends.
What power over heart does muse control,
That all of dreams are of holding her near?
Do I find in her eyes enough of soul
To give hope? Must I dreams of passion fear?
Might I fill muse's thoughts with words of love,
As she fills mine with pleasure and with joy?
How can I give enough for what dreams of
Her eyes allow, yet not my muse annoy?
She is my precious muse: The one to give
Reasons for hope, and help for love to live.
