Croatians are actually one of the more prominent immigrant nationalities in South Louisiana, and 2d-3d generation Croatians still dominate the oyster-fishery and seafood-restaurant businesses hereabouts. (Not to mention a number of prominent musicians with Croatian surnames, most notably the great jazz drummer Johnny Vidacovich.)

Therefore, I would expect that a visit to Croatia would also feature some real good eating, at least along the Adriatic coast, if not in the inland part of the country. The people there seem to know more about oysters than any other national group in the world!
