Sonnet 02/12/04                            CMLVII

I seek for spells, to keep muse safe, and stars
To dance attendance upon dreams. I try
To win desire: Only the distance bars
My arms from reaching out, to hopes reply.
I chase after my dreams, to hold her near
And whisper that I care. Thoughts of her fill
My nights with longing: Should I passions fear
That I have sought? Will hope do me some ill?
I beg for reason to run to her: All
I want I see in muse. How can I stay
Apart from heart's desire? Can dream not call
With power to all of my past fears slay?
She is far more than dreams, but I have found
Heart is captured by hope, and by dreams bound.
