Subject: Origins: TONIGHT FROM TEN TO ONE bawdy song
Hello everyone,

If you are easily offended, please STOP READING.   This thread is for mature audiences only.  Please don't post "dreadful song" or "worst song written" as you are not helping.

Below is a bawdy song titled: "Tonight from Ten to One"   (recording  91KB)

              1.  Do you sing "Tonight from Ten to One"?
              2.  If yes, when and where did you learn it?
              3.  Would you be willing to sing it for folklore purposes over the phone?

I have no analogs or other examples of this song so any help is appreciated.

Sincerely,

John Mehlberg

TONIGHT FROM TEN TO ONE  (recording  91KB)

Tonight from ten to one, dear,
Is my only chance to date,
I'd gladly cop you early,
But I'd rather cop you late.

I'll come from ten to one, dear,
If everything's all right,
I'll tender one, a tender one,
At ten to one tonight.

So please don't bring your mother,
Don't bring your sister Sue,
I can at ten to one, dear,
But I can't attend to two,

So if you tend to wonder
What odds I'd tender one,
I'll lay you ten to one, dear.
That I'll lay you ten to one.

Notes: This is transcribed from the singing of Bob Colman on 26 April 2005.   I do not have any other analog or examples of this song.   Any help will be appreciated.
