Just to boil yer neeps even more, Giok, I was involved (I won't say how specifically) with two inane EU transactions in the early 80s that involved over-production of butter and milk. Because of the guaranteed price system the butter had to be sold for 5% of what it sold for in the UK ... to the Soviet Union(!) and because the butter lake was saturated (pardon the pun) milk processing was switched to making powdered milk, which nobody wanted, which was then vitamin-enriched and ... fed back to the cows!
