Hey, I'm retired John, but Saturdays aren't boring. Yeah, I can go to the bank and to stores during the week that are jammed over the weekend. And, we don't go out to eat on the weekends for the same reason. I think the catch is that when you're living alone, it does seem like everybody else but you has plans for the weekend. I've lived alone for long stretches of my adult life, and I remember those times. Today, my wife an I are packing to go on a trip, and two of our sons are here putting a roof on a storage shed. I spent most of the morning putting together a family photo journal with related songs for my Mother's 98th birthday, and now it's time to clean the fish aquarium. Tomorrow night, my group will be performing, so that'll be a lot of fun. Weekends are a crazy mix of mowing the lawn, weeding, painting, music, watching old movies, spending time in here... not all equally enjoyable, but plenty to do. And then, there's the joy of having a loving wife to share things with. I've done it all three ways... living alone, being married to someone who made me yearn for the days that I lived alone, getting divorced and living alone again and then re-marrying and discovering how great life can be.
