The French will naturaly blame the English even though other countries have reservations for different reasons. I am happy to see that it has been rejected but it does not mean that the beauraucrats in Brussels will take any notice. They have a habit of ignoring any calls from common folk for openess and responsibility. Viz their expenses accounts etc.

It might be a wake up call for some of the governments to think harder about ever closer links.

The beauraucrats do not want to hand over power to the elected members of the European Parliament because that might mean er....democracy...something the EU has not really been about.

As for the Euro not a bad idea when it was planned and implemented but France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Portugal have all breached its 5 criteria with no kind of comeback.
