Yes, Democrats did want to stop the spread of Communism and Fascism. I'm not so sure about socialism. I don't think it was much of a threat. Fascism is a much bigger threat today.

Did the Republicans want to stop the spread of Fascism? If so, they didn't do a very good job of it by voting for Bush.
