Exactly.

As to the "need to control" of the handful of posters here who dare criticize the way the forum is run, oh please. Save your dime store psychoanalysis for someone who cares.

It ain't about control. As Bobert and Guest 7:30 & 8:34 have pointed out, it is about quality control by the forum owner and moderators.

I guess the fredas and jacquis don't have much experience of forums outside this one. If they did, they might know what they are talking about. But since they seem to have no experience with how quality forums are run, I guess that means they are just like blow fish--when they feel they are being indirectly attacked by those who criticize the forum, they puff up angrily and defensively with a false indignity that is easy to spot.

It is more than a bit ironic freda, that you can't follow your own "You can't change other people, you can only change your reactions to them" advice. Constructive criticism isn't welcomed by those who are insecure and/or lazy. It means they would have to accept and admit the fact that something CAN be done productively and positively to improve that which is being criticized. Most people here are much too lazy to work on the forum's problems, especially when it would entail them changing their own behavior...
