Got booked into a folk club in Chesterfield (UK) some years ago, and the support band was a six piece group of 15 year olds who had obviously been told that they were better than Fairport Convention, but unfortunatley hadn't quite learned the songs, or how to play their instruments.
Anyway, what they lacked in talent and subtlety, they made up for in volume and bringing their own crowd. They played for 20 minutes, did a 5 minute encore which the friends and family raised the roof over, and then spent 20 minutes stripping down their gear.
Then they went, and took their audience with them leaving me, an acoustic guitar and about 15 people who thought they were on 'Candid Camera' - still we had a good laugh about it!!
