The Blackford Hotel and Blackford-based folk group Tarneybackle will be holding a charity concert in aid of UNICEF, the United Nations children's charity, in The Blackford Hotel at 8 p.m. on the 1st July. All proceeds from tickets will go to UNICEF.
Tarneybackle perform traditional Scottish folk sings and tunes, blending close harmonies with a wide range of instruments. The group members are Sandy Marshall, and Lorna and John Davidson.
Lorna Davidson said "in the past year Tarneybackle has had the opportunity to work with Radio Scotland, release its third CD, and perform at The Scottish Parliament, Celtic Connections and The Orkney Folk Festival. The band is delighted that The Blackford Hotel is supporting this concert by Tarneybackle to raise funds for such a good cause."
Sandy Marshall added "we are hoping for plenty of support from residents of Blackford, Auchterarder and beyond to make this concert a success for UNICEF at a time when poverty in the third world is at the forefront of peoples' minds."
