Europeans and many other peoples have a different view of the US than many of us have, Marvin, a view that we get from our media and ourselves. The US is NOT the most generous or the most farsighted or the wisest or the best informed nation in the world. Heck, we're not even the healthiest nor do we live the longest nor do more of our babies survive infancy than the people of a host of other countries. Even Cuba's babies have a better chance of surviving birth than do ours.
