this started percolating in my brain roughly a year ago - - happenned to run across it today and more got added - thought I'd post:

Workin' Down in Hades

I used to work up in the sky, harping amidst the clouds
I used to work in Heaven boys, and sing Hosannahs loud
But the Great I AM said I had sinned, and needs must that I fall
There's only one job left for me - to be the Devil's thrall

Working down in Hades, amid the ice and flames
tormentin' all the hapless souls and hearin' all their screams
And the torments that I visit them have shrivel'd up my soul
and it's all shriek together lads, we're demons all

Now I never rest nor sleep, nor do a selfless deed
I know it will be centuries before my soul is clean
But it's possible , or so I'm told, that I will someday rise
and once again enjoy the sight of Heaven's clean blue skies

It's darker then the darkest night, except where there is flame
And whether from the heat or cold, the burning is the same
And I would do most anything for to hear a single psalm
