I am no big fan of Gibson guitars, which is another point worth considering. Not that I don't think they're fairly good...I just don't like them much for some reason. Martins I do like, mostly. Gibsons sound too twangy and they don't feel right. Be that as it may, I have a Ron Belanger guitar now that I like better than either Martins or Gibsons.
