Peter, if there's anything you need explained, let us know. The Digital Tradition version above has some lyrics that just done't make sense, like

If it weren't for choppin my hole would turn to rust

Brian Hoskin posted a version above that makes much more sense. In the version he posted, the line is

It it wasn't for choppin' my hoe would turn to rust.

Much better, indeed. "Hoe" makes sense. The subjunctive "weren't" is grammatically correct, but I can't imagine Woody using a subjunctive...
