I decided to take a break from the daily quote (it's not doing as well as I had hoped) to bring you some humour (oops, I'm always spelling things the English way). I'm sure you folks who have kids, or are young enough, remember the children's book "Chicken Soup With Rice," which contained small poems for each month, with soup-related themes. >>BACK STORY<< When I was 16, I found the poems again, and decided to write parodies of them. By this time I had been poking fun a Campbell's Soup for several years (possibly from my dislike of Clan Campbell)and had been doing humorous comic strip parodies of the Campbell kids. Combining them together, here's what I came up with (this is today's installment):
In September, for a while
I'll have a brand new soup for trial
That will include some ceiling tile--
Tilin' once,
Tilin'twice,
Tile in Chicken Soup With Rice.
In September, I'll be so bold
To just not do what I am told
When Dad says "Go to school, my son"
I'll say "No way! I want some fun!"
And gobble hot soup by the ton
Gobble once,
Gobble twice,
Gobble Chicken Soup With Rice.
More tomorrow!--Mbo
