the problem with online banking is that being a relatively new genre it is more prone to mistakes, as opposed to old genres when they become blase. They don't tell you of breaches unless they have to, and only when they can spot them.

I love technology but I don't do banking online - too many experts who can't know it all and too many hackers who are these days old fashioned criminals.

AND you just try and keep a PC for more than 5 years and try getting replacement parts. I have worked in the PC industry and in the military they expect lifetimes in decades. Homeland security is now being based on a rolling obsolescence of less than 5 years.

The banks don't stand a chance. They have to find all loopholes all over again every 5 years. The criminal only needs one.

And the cost of re-imbursing customers who gave away their own details from an e-mail no-one asked for.
