I keep hearing folks say, about terrorism, that "we're fighting a war here, and have to act like it." If you really believe that, and expect the rest of us to go along with it, then why aren't the detainees at Gitmo prisoners of war? Is it a war or not? If they are "enemy combatants" and not prisoners of war, then the "war on terror" isn't a real war. So stop saying it is and expecting the rest of us to be on a war footing forever. You war-mongering idiots want to have your cake and eat it, too. Get some logic, or quit complaining that the rest of the world thinks you're a bunch of stupid twits.

How is it that prisoner abuse continued to happen after the Abu Ghraib scandal broke? If George Bush had wanted the abuse to stop, it would have stopped. He just has to give the order that torture and abuse are unacceptable, and it stops. Or are we really supposed to believe that the American military is so badly managed and out of control that they can't figure out how to stop a few "rogue" soldiers from beating people up and peeing on them? Which is it, you Republicans? Totally incompetent military, or a desire for torture to continue?
