I can't think of any demonstraition or protest since the poll tax riots that has actually changed Goverment policy on anything. The most they've done is hold off something for a year or two. If the Goverment listened, the Fuel protests, Countryside Alliance and Stop the War marches would all have had some lasting effect.

People don't miss things so much if they don't work.
