The "Charlie" from Oz I mentioned in an earlier thread--who has been doing songs at Quinn's Lighthouse--is really named Ron Wells (Skip Henderson has been calling him Charlie--Ron says it's a long story). He wrote the eerie song I mentioned about the Botany Bay escapees munching each other--and the other songs he has been singing. Skip offered to produce a CD for him and--although nothing has been said about it--I'm hoping for a chance to play some harmonica on it: Ron liked my harping on the cannibalism song enough that last night during our band break he came up to me to show me the chords of the next song he was going to do so I could work out a backup. He did a song he dedicated to his mother who had visited a while back and met the Starboard Watch--she's 85 and has some health problems that have him planning to head home for a while in January.
