I've seen her twice; once with a band (Little Plastic Castles release) and then solo a couple of years ago (Evolve, I think). great both times. Kinda nuts i think, but what a writer/performer.

Gotta say though, that, while I think the world of independent recording artists owes her a huge debt of gratitude for showing you can go it alone and be ridiculously successful, I sometimes wonder whether some of her work couldn't do with a good "edit"? What I mean is that while record exec's have been notoriously stupid about saying no to alot of great ideas, it does seem that in Ani's case lately there's alot of pretty self indulgent stuff there that gets pretty old pretty fast. Anyobe else get the same feeling? sb
