Question: How long do the posts to Mudchat stay in "existance"

Mudchat. I would guess typically most posts last a few minutes. I don't know the specifics of CFChat (the program Mudchat uses) but a lot of that type use a "rotating array" in the web server's memory space to hold a few chat lines, I'd guess 10-50 lines of chat.

The longest time that anything would stay in memory is the time the server is running. In the case of Mudcat on average that is about 1/2-1/3 of a day taking a 90 day average from Netcraft.

There is one other factor though. That is the messages could be logged. I don't know whether that happens or not. All I do know is that years ago there was a Java Chat here and that was logged.
