Should I not dream of you, nor want to give
Reasons to smile? You are beautiful, bright,
And sweet: How can I hope that hopes not live
To bring a shadow of you to my night?
Should I not think about your smile, nor eyes
That reach my soul? You are my heart's desire:
Is to ignore all of my feelings wise,
That I should seek from passions to retire?
Should I not want to all of you caress,
When you are all that dreams and heart search for?
Yet, is there reason I should love you less
In absence, when thought of you hopes restore?
Might I just dream of you, and want you near,
Or will I always risk of upset fear?
