It was aimed at Machiavelli, who is long dead (heck, I stood before his tomb once) and therefore cannot reach out with his tortured fingers in my direction. Anyway, he is presumably now a Buddhist monk practising ahimsa and humility somewhere in the jungles of Cambodia or Chicago.
