I THOUGHT that Mansell Davies used to sing a Jacobite marching song at the Calgary Folk Club that had the following refrain.

"We marched all day and night behind the singing fifes (pipes??)
The flowers in our bonnets were for Charlie"

The last time I asked Mansel he had no recollection of the song and I can't find it here (or elsewhere on the net) Perhaps I have some key words mis-remembered.
