Sweet rose, I dream about your smile and eyes
That are more precious than my life. I wait,
To find what you think of the verse that tries
To show my heart: I still seek for my fate.
How can I alter past, to change the way
We each look at the world? You know I seek
My heart's desire, but should I dare to say
I find in you what all of desires speak?
Should I my hopes ignore, and just enjoy
Thought of your smile? Dreams of you fill my night
But do dreams ever my dear muse annoy?
Might I hope vision will show more than sight?
Is there some path that dreams might find to tread
That pleases you, and does not leave hopes dead?
