Sonnet 24/05/05                         MVI

What part of mood is sadness that I feel,
Unspoken by muse? Does she send me tears
As well as dream? How much of gloom is real,
And how much reflection of muse's fears?
Yet, might I ease some of concern, to tell
Her plain that she is loved for her own sake?
She deserves all, and more: Her tears compel
That I try to some sweet distraction make.
What can I do to help her smile regain?
Is there a prayer that I might offer chance
For happiness and joy? Can love obtain
Even shadow of hope, without romance?
How can I tears avoid, when time has let
Joy slip from muse, and hopes for dream upset?
