If you want a good soundtrack for your visit, old fiddle tunes kendal Ghyll and the Kendal Waltz can be found on "A Trip to the Lakes" by the Boat Band.
   There is a local musician Carolyn Franciswho runs the group the Lakeland Fiddlers, and they practise in Kendal. She also plays with Striding Edge, and would be a good contact for music around there.
