Thread Name: BS: On Being Stupid and Making Things Right
Subject: RE: BS: On Being Stupid and Making Things Right
Looked a bit like an order to me. I don't do orders myself. If I did however,
I couldn't have carried this particular request so......first I would have had to get in the Car, drive....bang on an neighbors door ask them for theirs, they would, as it turns out, have said .."no sorry don't have one in the house".... so I'd of had to got back in the car, drive some more...go to someone else's door, on the off chance that they might have a Bible and guess what? they wouldn't have either. " never had one, you could ask at the baptist Church in the morning if its urgent" Now I am in a very Rural area so that's a heck of a bit of driving because of an assumption.
How do I know this because I called and asked those same folks tonight cause I was curious. I just called and said " Do you have a Bible I could borrow please" and they say what I basically told y'all they said above with a bit more personal information which was very kind of them! I thank them all and said that I didn't have one obviously. They understood when I explained why.
As it happens none of them are of the Christian Faith.
I was SURE they all were being where I live and all.
I won't assume that about folks again in my area. This was just a little bit of info I wished to pass on.
I guess by my assuming they would all have one I was being a bit of an idiot. It is not a good thing to assume things about something so deeply personal about People and in my case it lead to me to feeling isolated with my own path. Now I don't feel as apart from a few of the Folks around here and that's great... Ah we live and learn...sometimes:>)

anywho....back to the original poster of the Thread
