Happy Birthday!
Soviet Army lieutenant (ret. as Major) sniper,
Lyudmilla Pavlichencko
born 7/12/1916
(d10/27/1974)
She was cited in May 1942 for personally killing 257 German soldiers in the siege of Leningrad. She was credited over all with 309 kills. She later received a hero's welcome in New York and Washington and was the first Soviet citizen to visit the White House. The CIO presented her with a Colt automatic pistol - a warrior's gift.
