Ballad (7)

Wizard always sees muse, in mind,
But seeks to know her heart:
Only in silence is he blind,
In dreams his visions start.

He worries, not because of fear
That she will not be found,
But that he cannot offer cheer
To her pains keep in bound.

No spell he holds will her tears dry
Though he offers his soul:
He cannot his concerns deny,
That her dreams be made whole.

The wizard waits for muse, but schemes
To hold her within arm.
Might he risk heart to chase his dreams,
Or would he bring muse harm?

She is his focus: Dreams converge
Upon her smile, and eyes,
To haunt his longings. Shall he urge
That she his presence prize?

Choice would be clear, could desires rule,
A path for future bliss:
He would muse seek, and be a fool,
To offer his muse kiss.
