The pilots of Alaska Airlines do a really neat thing though when the "mountain is out". They will sometimes leave their scheduled flight path and go closer to Denali (20,320 feet tall. Massive.) to give everyone a close-up look.

Actually I don't know if they still do that, but they did as recently as 11 years ago.
