Without any shade of doubt the Wortley Arms Folk Club has to be one of (if not THE) best long-running clubs of all time. On the outskirts of Sheffield (A629 to Huddersfield road) in the beautiful village of Wortley, the Wortley Arms (opposite the church) runs it's club on the 3rd Saturday (excluding August) and boasts a top-notch guest list that stretches back as far as Martin Carthy in grey flannel shorts. Listing the names of those appearing at this club would only embarrass the rest so I'll spare them the blushes.

Floor singers are always very good, and with an early start to every club there's always opportunity for a healthy number of support performers. Audience behaviour (no smoke, no crisp packets, no background chat etc) is exemplary, as is their participation in chorus. This IS a proper folk club - often listed as favourite amongst guest performers.
NOT TO BE MISSED..........
