Back to the ineffable queerness of the Universe, I am moved to ask if anyone knows an answer to this question: When, and why, did the Universe come out of the closet? And given that the closet was in the Universe, is the Universe a container within the thing contained, after Thurber? Or is spatial containment a figment of some joker's imagination? If the latter, which of you jokers dreamed it up?

If it is not empirical truth, the next question is what is the mechanism by which we imagine containment of things within each other to be so? Why is it so widely agreed-upon? Most importantly, when, why and how did we subscribe to the mechanism that gives us to believe we are contained within the universe -- and worse, within the spatial limits of some third-rate planet on some second-string Galaxy's outer rim, stuck in a suburban cluster of little renown, a strip-mall among the Cosmos? Why do we buy this automatically regenerated illusion?

My next brain-washer is going to be a Maya-tag. They never fall for this kind of crap.

Jesus is reported to have said, in some language or other, "The kingdom of heaven is within you.". Not a bad sentiment for a carpenter kiddy, but was the Naz putting us on? In? If we are supposed to believe him why do we point upward to the afterlife? What's UP?

Really, this business of being human is ridickle-dockle.
