As I remember it, the twenty eight per cent inflation from the first years of the Labour government had been cut to just over eleven per cent. The loans to the Shah and the IMF had been repaid. I don't recall either Heath, Callaghan or Wilson systematically stealing the country's assets, given them to their buddies in the Stock Market and then accepting directorships in the same industries which they had plundered.
