Our microwave beeps even when we don't push anything on the number pad (when we're not even anywhere near it). And it also turns itself on from time to time. We have to unplug it when we're not using it so it doesn't keep beeping at us and so it doesn't set itself to 99 minutes and 99 seconds (as it seems to want to do), turn itself on, and burn the place down.
