I'm always called aside for the pat down when I pass through U.S. customs at the airport. Last time I looked around at the others who had been randomly selected and realized that they were old ladies like me. It finally dawned on me that they were 'just doing their job' and that they would rather search and find nothing than to have to confront someone that might actually be in possession of something dangerous.
