Thanks for all the kind words, guys, but I can't claim all the credit for a great concert.
The second half of the show featured the inimitable Eileen Ivers (complete with blue fiddle) and her band. Stupendous musicianship all around, and she knows how to work a crowd.
Not only is she a brilliant fiddler, but she is also a wonderful entertainer, something which is very important in my book.
And I got to join Eileen and the band for their last song - will the Circle Be Unbroken.
What a thrill!
The Albuquerque Zoo is a splendid venue for a concert. There were over 4,000 people sitting on the lawn in front of the band-sheel. Superb sound system and lighting, and a very family-oriented presentation.
There is a small moat filled with huge carp between the stage and the lawn.
Next time I play there, I'm bringing my fishing rod.
It was good to meet Art brooks again in his Mudcat Tee shirt.
Freightdawg, you shoulda come up and introduced yourself.
