Ballad (16)

I would not ever say goodbye
To one who holds my heart.
She is my muse- My soul would die
Before dreams would depart.

What might muse say, to bring a song
To heart, and words to page?
Am I foolish, or is it wrong
To seek to be her mage?

I beg to know her dream, and ask
Muse share desires with me:
Should I be silent, or hopes mask
That I might help dreams be?

She need but smile, and verses spring
To life, under her sun.
She grows my love, and words take wing,
And I have my dreams won.

Within my muse's eyes, I find
All I seek to desire.
Yet, is all of this in my mind,
That only hopes inspire?

I thirst for all of muse I might   
Reach with my dreams, or hold.
I hunger for her touch, and sight:
These dreams alone are cold.
