There was a wild colonial boy, Darrel McCaig by name
'Twas in the wilds of Canada he won his lasting fame,
Ten long years in a prison cell, till he broke free at last,
And ran to find his liberty, while the Mounties followed fast.

They followed and surrounded him, as the Mounties always do,
"Surrender now young Darrell, you are trapped there in that loo."
"Surrender that I never will" they heard young Darrell say,
"I'm sat here ready waiting for to flush you all away."

But young McCaig he was no match for Constable Tom Behm,
For he rushed him and he peppered him as he played his waiting game,
For the Mounties always get their man, like a rabbit and a dog,
In the woods or in the mountains, or a lonesome city bog.
