Thread Name: Tech: Myriad software or not?
Subject: Tech: Myriad software or not?
The couple of threads on Music/Midi notation software got me to trying out various programs the past couple of days. I've not had any such before as other Musicians I've talked to told me of many limitations. The one which seems appealing to me is Myriad, but there are a couple of things I'm wondering about, & they don't offer a demo. What I want to use if for: Yes, composing & arranging for all the usual choral & orchestral stuff & Piano & Guitar. But, also Tablature for the "Traditional" instruments--Mt. Dulcimer, Autoharp, Mandolin, Tinwhistle & such. Q: can myriad do 3 string Tablature for Mt. Dulcimer AND include the 6th AND the 6 1/2 frets for the lowered/raised seventh note of the scale?
Lots of teaching materials, thus tab with notation on demand. Housing teaching materials & put my exhisting teaching materials on my 'puter--scan it in? Make CD recordings of my teaching materials & CDs of my own performing. Put Notation & recordings online.
Q: Do I need all the products for which there is a fee to get all the features, or are some of them doubled with the other products? This is not quite clear on the Myriad site.
Please let me know your thoughts and comments + or - about the program. Thank you!! Kaleea
