I hope that what I am about to write hasn't already been wtitten above - but anyway. Arlo "modified" Steve's tune slightly when he stuck a extra chord in the "I'll be gone 500 miles" section. It sounds "gimmicky" and unnecessary to me, but that's the version most people will be familiar with.
