I once made a last-minute try to get into a Doc Watson / Davis Grisman concert in Sacramento. No luck - not one single ticket in the box office or for sale on the street. Not one - and there were all these young people going in the door to hear Old Doc, and not one of them had pity on Poor Joe Offer, who has never in his life had the chance to see Doc perform.
