Charlie, my future response may not be timely if you plan to buy yourself a Christmas, but I'll be seeing someone at Woodford Festival over the Christmas/New Year break who has just bought a Sony MD, and partially regrets the decision. Apparently the editing facility is superb, but she believes that the cost/quality equation still favours tape - I don't know whether she meant analogue or digital.
