Don... when you are online you will see a little box in the upper right side of your screen (I assume that is where it puts it on everyones computer)

at the top of this box is your ICQ number... the bottom line says "iCQ" and has a little picture beside it usully of a flower saying "online", "free for chat", "invisible"... you change this by left clicking in this box....... between these top and bottom lines ... you can see if any ofyour "contacts" are on line...

this description is just to make sure that you are in the right place

if you are in this box then 3 rows up from the bottom on the left, there is a box called "add users"... left click on it and follow the instructions... eg if you know the persons ICQ number enter it and hit "search"... when the name appears click on it and it will be added to your list....
